Corrosion Inhibition Effects of Corrosion Products on High-purity Mg and AZ91D under Thin Electrolyte Layers

In this work, the effects of deposited corrosion products on rates and pseudo-passivation behavior high-purity (HP) Mg AZ91D under thin electrolyte layers (TEL) in a bulk solution were investigated. Low pseudo-passive can be maintained over time TEL, especially extremely electrolytes (100 ? m 200 TEL). Pseudo-passivation HP TEL is caused by product films formed metal surface. The are composed hydroxides, oxides carbonates. Moreover, pH lower than that solution. This might contribute to dissolution hydroxide products.
